NOVEMBER

We’re Back from the Philippines with Exciting News!

Our recent trip to the Philippines was a great success, and we’re thrilled to share the outcome! During our visit, we established a new collaboration with a local dive centre( KOKAY MALTIDO) to carry out thresher shark observation work.

This partnership represents an exciting step forward in our efforts to understand and protect these remarkable sharks. Through dedicated monitoring and research dives, we aim to contribute valuable data to ongoing conservation initiatives and raise awareness about the importance of preserving marine biodiversity.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with passionate divers, marine researchers, and conservation advocates who share our mission.

If you’re interested in joining us on future trips or staying informed about our progress, stay in touch — we’d love to have you be part of our journey toward healthier oceans. 🌊

Together, we can make a difference for marine life.

Our observation work focuses on collecting valuable data to better understand thresher shark behavior, population trends, and habitat use. Working closely with our partner dive centre, kokay maltido. we conduct regular underwater surveys and sightings to record key information such as:

  • Number of sharks observed per dive

  • Sex identification (when possible)

  • Time, depth, and location of sightingBehavioral notes, such as cleaning, mating, or feeding activity

All observations are logged and analyzed to help identify patterns and seasonal movements. This data supports broader marine research and conservation efforts, contributing to the protection of thresher sharks and their critical habitats.

By engaging divers and local communities, we also aim to raise awareness about the importance of responsible wildlife observation and sustainable diving practices.

The Philippines is home to an incredible diversity of marine life. Every dive reveals something extraordinary beneath the surface — from vibrant coral gardens to graceful pelagics. The macro life here is equally captivating, with an abundance of colourful nudibranchs and the elusive frogfish hiding in plain sight. Each encounter reminds us just how rich and alive these waters truly are.

https://sanctuaries.noaa.gov/news/may22/explore-spectacular/coral-spawning.html

I am pleased to share that I recently had the privilege of attending my first Coral Spawning Workshop,@secorel an important training event dedicated to advancing knowledge and practical skills in coral reef restoration.
The workshop provided in-depth exposure to coral reproductive biology and innovative restoration techniques, including the collection and fertilization of gametes, larval rearing, and the outplanting of juvenile corals onto degraded reef areas. These approaches represent a critical step forward in scaling up restoration efforts and ensuring the long-term resilience of coral reef ecosystems.
In addition to the technical training, the workshop created valuable opportunities to engage with international experts, researchers, and practitioners. The exchange of knowledge and experience reinforced the importance of collaborative action in addressing the global challenges faced by coral reefs, particularly in the context of climate change and increasing anthropogenic pressures.
This experience has greatly enriched my understanding of coral restoration science and strengthened my commitment to contributing actively to reef conservation initiatives. I look forward to applying the skills acquired and exploring potential avenues for partnership to further this important work.
I extend my sincere thanks to the organizers and facilitators for their guidance and support throughout this workshop.we are searching for  volunteers to who have some evening free to join us around full moon in water to record the spawning events

  • Best Time: Around 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time.

  • October9th–12th

We are beyond excited to announce that we are now an official PADI Dive Center!
This milestone is more than just a certification — it’s the beginning of a powerful new chapter. Diving is our gateway to connection: with the ocean, with each other, and with the incredible marine life we are committed to protecting.
By becoming a PADI Dive Center, we are weaving together the thrill of underwater exploration with our ongoing marine research and conservation efforts. Every dive is not only an adventure, but also a step toward understanding and safeguarding our blue planet.
Here’s to new journeys, deeper connections, and making waves for a healthier ocean.

Beach Cleanup Success!
The beach cleanup was a wonderful success, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came and participated. With the help of   28  dedicated individuals, we managed to collect and remove  of 11 bags/100 kilos of waste from the beach.
This effort not only keeps our coastline clean and safe but also protects countless marine animals from the dangers of plastic and other debris. It was inspiring to see families, friends, and community members work side by side for a shared goal — a healthier, brighter ocean for future generations.
Your support proves that when we come together, we can make a real difference. Let’s continue building on this momentum for the next cleanup!

JULY

A  few days ago a baby pygmy whale washed up ashore  with a blooded body of injury, the cause was unknown but more likely caused by a boat propeller. The point is, that there was more audience than help. Sadly in the end the whale was left to swim to the blue but still bloody. My question is, what are we doing to protect these animals? Over the last few weeks it has been more about restricting the swimming with the whales but what about their protection? The influx of foreigners is happening, it is all over instagram. For example many Russians are coming in to swim with them. These people are selfish and only thinking of themselves and not about the poor whales. This behaviour needs to be stopped! The law is the law and these animals need to be protected.

Over the last few weeks, there has been an influx of whale lovers in Mauritius, which is fine, but the frenzy has turned into a craze around these magnificent mammals. Despite established regulations, we've seen Instagrammers promoting unethical whale encounters at exorbitant prices, and websites offering illegal swimming with whales. This behavior must stop. Our company is dedicated to monitoring these activities while educating visitors about marine life. Join our expeditions to learn about the ocean's wonders and the importance of respecting its inhabitants.we are convinced, that education is playing a major role in the protection  of our oceans. we hope to see you on one of our expeditions

Back from a successful Trip to Mauritius. Did you know that the island is full of marine life? Sadly the place is underrated. My search for the gentle giants was a success. Not only is it a place for the sperm whales but a place where the humpbacks come to deliver their babies and train them to deal with the vast ocean life,

I was very fortunate and so were my  clients to experience this with there own eyes.

Not only is the place full of the gentle giants you see almost every time a group of bottlenose dolphins playing and passing,

The island with its exotic nature will take you breath away, if you don't believe me join me on my next trip

These gentle giants of the ocean are known for their impressive size and unique clicking sounds that they use to communicate with each other.
